Aidan Pope Trio

The Aidan Pope trio, formed in 2021, features 3 of the UK's most promising up and coming Jazz musicians. These members are Aidan Pope (guitar and composition), Matthew Holmes (drums) and James Owston (double bass). After forming, the band recorded their debut album called 'Standard State' in 2022 and toured the UK with this music in 2023, selling out shows in Birmingham and Cardiff. Pope quotes that 'Standard State' is the product of taking jazz standards and altering the state of them to find new material within.
